I haven’t been able to write a decent word of writing for 3 months now, ever since I got back from a holiday and I have to write a descriptive essay and I’ve written the whole thing but it’s a load of rubbish and if I don’t do well on this then it’s possible they won’t let me take higher english which is all I really want to do higher-wise. The teacher’s only advice was to use much more vibrant language.
I know you could refuse to do this as it is kind of homework but please help…
(and also, before you advice it, I’ve tried a thesaurus and that isn’t working…it just said for every word ‘no thesaurus results’)

The seatbelt light pinged back on above my head, announcing to everyone on the plane that we were getting all set to land in the foreign airport. The people who had just joined the queue for the toilet or hadn’t been standing there waiting for too long decided just to leave it till we had landed and returned to their own seats. They had to find their way around the pristine air attendant’s trolley as they were pushed back to the front end of the plane so they could be secured and prepared for landing. Everyone was in a rush to do everything as we only had limited time before we all really had to sit down because of safety reasons.
Some people that were still standing in the queues for the toilet were ushered away by some of the staff who were also encouraging other stragglers to return to their seating area as well and making sure everyone’s seatbelts were properly fastened, that all the electronic equipment was still off, chairs were in the upright position, seat trays were tucked in and just all those other small things that mattered.
Once everyone was finally ready and in place, the flight crew were finally able to return to their own seats, just waiting for the plane to land safely onto the airport runway. The plane lurched downwards a couple times and I could see the fear in the solemn faced passengers eyes as a few people gripped the arms of their chairs a little harder, and a few children started screaming and crying so their parents had to try and calm them down. As we fell back down below the clouds, we were greeted by a majestic blur of colour, emerald foliage, ivory buildings and as we neared the airport, the beaches also came into view with their golden sands and azure waters.
The plane lowered a little further till all that was to be viewed out the window was the plain gray of tarmac, buildings. We bounced a few times off the tarmac before finally landing, making the seat vibrate and judder behind me. Everything outside passed in a blur of colour as we speeded along but at the same time we were gradually slowing down. I’m actually just glad it’s finally over. We had to wait a while whilst the plane slowly parked itself up next to the tunnel so we could leave straight out into the airport. Before the light even pinged off or the air attendants told us that we were safe to remove our seatbelts and stand, people were already getting up seeing as the plane was now stationary. Some people even started taking their luggage down from the overhead storage. Undoing my own seatbelt, I used the seat in front of me to pull myself up and out into the aisle, my family in front of me, just following the crowd.
I eventually found my balance and managed to walk along normally and not drag myself or stumble but I still used the seats on the plane and when in the tunnel I used the bars lining the walls until we left into the terminal. Once we were into there we collected a luggage trolley and went to find the conveyor belt that delivered out our baggage from the plane to us.

(Don’t judge my writing from this, I’m aware it is terrible, I can usually do better)
There is also the small problem of time, right now where I am it is 11pm and this has to be in by about 9 tomorrow morning, I have no time, I’ve been working on it for weeks and I’m getting no where.

I got this e cig that looks like a ball point pen. It was 80 dollars from a store at our local mall. It came with a pack of 5 nicotine cartridges, and I chose vanilla flavor. I know you can smoke this e cigarette without adding the nicotine cartridge, so is that like smoke water from a water vapor machine? Now, I know when you actually put the nicotine cartridge in, you are getting the nicotine. I haven’t used the nicotine cartridges at all, and I’m just smoking vaporized air, but does the vaporized air still contain a little nicotine even though I didn’t put in any cartirdges, or just vaporized smoke? I’m just smoking it without the nicotine to cure the hand to mouth habbit, and also quitting cold turkey. Since I’m not adding any nicotine cartridges, is like smoke coming from a water vaporizer machine that is plugged into the wall like my parents did for me when I was a baby for chronic upper respiratory problems, and if so, with no nicotine cartridges added to the e cig, can that actually help reduce sinus infections, allergies, or chronic runny noses?

Yet I live in a home with no cellar underneath – only a teeny, tiny crawlspace. Although animals are unable to enter my home – (I covered ALL cracks and holes) – their persistent nesting noises are disconcerting. Not to mention the fact that I don’t want them building a nest around my pipes and heating vents! Is there any product – safe around house pets – that will deter these noisy pests? A friend told me she purchases something you plug in the wall, and it seems to be working for her. She never sees mice around/in her home. Please help? What do you recommend as the safest, best natural or electronic product?
Thank you.

i just removed my 3 piece stereo system (3 squares that fit perfectly in the bottom of the wall unit) the tv above it and the wireless router etc. to find a very thick layer of dust in those areas cause it has been atleast 18 months since i moved the big electronic stuff, so i decided i should do a routine dusting about every 6 months, do you think that is enough? i might do some minor dusting here and there, but every 6 months i plan to disconnect and move the big electronics to clean out the most untouched parts of my wall unit. it is crucial to keep the dust to a minimum because i have an xbox 360 and it has big vents and cooling fans plus it generally breaks easily. if i have my computer and xbox 360 turned off while cleaning my room, will it be safe from dust? cause i know cleaning or sweeping can cause dust to rise and if they are on, the vents will suck them in.
also how long will it take for the dust in my room to go away after dusting? i have the air conditioner on high with the door closed and im waiting in the living room, im hoping the AC can suck up all the dust into the dust filter,

Liverpool’s Olympic Bid

Did you know that Liverpool had put a bid in for the Olympics? Here is a section of their bid that was leaked from the IOC…

OPENING CEREMONY
The Olympic flame will be ignited by a petrol bomb thrown into the arena by a native of the Toxteth area of the City, wearing the traditional costume of balaclava and shell suit.

THE EVENTS
In previous Olympics Liverpool’s competitors have not been particularly successful. In order to redress the balance some of the events have been altered slightly to the advantage of the local athletes:

100 METRES SPRINT
Competitors will have to hold a video recorder and a microwave oven (one under each arm) and on the sound of a starting pistol a police dog will be released 10 metres behind the athletes.

110 METRES HURDLES
As above but with added obstacles, ie car bonnets, hedges, gardens, fences, walls etc.

HAMMER
The competitors will be allowed to make a choice of hammer, (Claw, Sledge etc). The winner will be the one who can cause the most grievous bodily harm to members of the public within their allotted time.

WEIGHTLIFTING
From a standing position competitors will have various electronic goods placed in their arms. In order to complete a lift these must then be taken through the shop door and placed in a mate’s van.

FENCING
Entrants will be asked to dispose of as much stolen jewellery as possible within five minutes.

SHOOTING
A series of targets will be set up to establish the competitor’s ability over a range of disciplines The targets to be as follows: 1 – A Moving Police Van 2 – A Post Office Clerk 3 – A Bank Teller or Securicor Driver 4 – Their next door neighbours youngest child NB – This target to be followed by the ritual cry of ‘I thought he was a Bizzy’ or ‘He pulled a knife on me’.

BOXING
Entry to be restricted to husband and wife teams and will take place on every Friday and Saturday night of the games. The husband will be give 15 pints of Stella and the wife will be told not to make him any tea when he gets home. The bout will then commence.

CYCLING TIME TRIALS
Competitors will be asked to break into the Liverpool University bike shed and take an expensive mountain bike owned by some Mummy’s Boy from the country on his first trip away from home – Against the clock.

CYCLING PURSUIT
As above however this time the break in must occur at Liverpool Police Station and must be witnessed by an officer.

TIME TRIAL
The competitor who can waste the most of the court’s valuable time before being found guilty will be adjudged the winner.

MODERN PENTATHLON
Amended to include mugging, breaking & entering, flashing, joyriding and arson.

THE MARATHON
A safe route has yet to be decided, but the competitors will be issued with sharp sticks and bags with which to pick up dog shit, crisp packets and used hypodermic syringes on their way round.

MEN’S 50Km WALK
Q – Why does the Mersey run through Liverpool?
A – Because if it walked it would get mugged. Therefore for safety reasons this event has been cancelled.

RELAY
Each of four competitors to remove an appliance of their choice from a house in Cheshire and get it back to Liverpool using at least four different stolen cars.

ARCHERY
Each competitor will be given three needles, the winner will be the person who gets nearest to three different main veins in their own body.

DISCUS
Will be decided by which contestant can get a hubcap off a car and throw it to his mate the fastest. In addition the following ‘exhibition events’ designed at promoting the local culture will be introduced.

PILLOW EATING
The contestant who can get the most pillow in their mouth after their 18 stone cellmate takes a shine to them will be adjudged the winner.

GRAFFITI
To be decided on who can spray the most obscenities on a neighbour’s wall in five minutes – NB In order not to disadvantage local competitors marks will not be deducted for misspelling.

BASEBALL
Each competitor to be given a stainless steel baseball bat. Last person standing wins.

CLOSING CEREMONY
In an attempt to capture the timeless beauty of Liverpool, competitors from every nation will be chased across Stanley Park by Knife wielding locals.

They will then scatter to the four corners of the City to find their car aerial ripped off, driver side window broken and stereo liberated, with no sign of the lad who charged 50p ‘to look after their motor’.

Their assailants will return to the park providing a riot of colour and sound as their shell suits converge. The Olympic flame (if still in place) will be extinguished by eight Scallies forming a circle and pissing on it.

The closing speech will consist of the words ‘Everyone in Liverpool’s a natural comedian you know’ . No-one will laugh. Each visitor will be hugged on exiting the stadium and will return home to find their wallet missing.

www.facebook.com djpatrickvannegri.podomatic.com They say that fortune favours the brave. For Eric Prydz, a bold musical agenda and an unrivalled ability to combine commercial success (3 x Top 2 UK hit singles) with underground notoriety (fastest selling release ever on cult download store Beatport), has allowed him to achieve worldwide recognition with his integrity intact. The softly spoken Swede hasn’t given an interview in 6 years, he never appears in his music videos, and avoids ‘artist tweets his breakfast’ self-promotion. His refusal to play the media circus stems from the fallout ignited by ‘that’ video. His first No.1, ‘Call On Me’, was accompanied by a music promo that he didn’t clear, much less approve of. This time Eric took charge of the music video; the resulting promo and its accompanying environmental theme was …
